What T-shirt is Best For Me?

Oh, the choice. For such a ubiquitous and simple item of clothing choosing the right T-shirt can be a complicated experience.
So many variables to consider; size, fit, style, price, material, decoration, colour, how it washes, will it shrink?
T-shirts are worn casually, to impress, for work, advertising, uniform, humour and a host of other reasons. It’s generally how the garment is decorated that determines its use.

Fruit of the Loom’s Super Premium is heavier than the valueweight comprising of more cotton per square metre at 190gm/m2. The Super Premium will also perform after 60 degree washes.
The Fruit of the Loom Sofspun cotton T-shirt is a softer feel T-shirt.
Our best value T-shirt is the Gildan 100% cotton ringspun tee. The fit is slightly tighter but because of the soft feel there is some flex so it is very comfortable to wear and performs well after numerous washes and in the dryer. It prints well and is reasonably priced.

Printwear Live 2019

The chaps from Teepig visited the Birmingham N.E.C. this week to have a mosey around the industry’s leading providers at the Printwear Live tradeshow.
We were on the lookout for products of both garments and machinery that can make our service even better. What we found was just that.

DTG Printing vs Screen Printing

Direct to garment or DTG is an ideal way of getting your artwork, photo or logo onto clothing.

The main advantage of DTG over screen printing is the ease and low cost of producing few garments with a very high quality print.

Conventional screen printing is a great way of printing quality images onto garments if what is being printed has few colours, bold lines and is relatively simple because the more colours you use the more screens you need. It’s only worthwhile doing if you are producing multiple garments of the same print. DTG on the other hand is a great way to print one-offs or small runs. The preparation is very quick and easy compared to screen printing where each different colour needs to have a screen made. To produce a screen a film needs to be printed, then covered with emulsion, left to dry, then exposed with UV, then washed out, dried again then it’s ready to use. This has to be done for each colour being printed on your garment.

DTG is so much simpler and if you wanted a single one off T-shirt of your design for instance, it’s great value. T-shirts for Community Groups

Screen Printing

In our own town of Portishead there is a new ‘party’ entering the political arena. Although those in the group would probably wince at such a term as party because their political stance is one of removing party politics from local politics. Makes sense. Discussion and challenges with the local authority is good for the community as it surely improves services.
Portishead Independents came to us at Teepig for a run of T-shirts for their group and to offer to their supporters for sale to generate campaign funds. We were able to provide a number of screen printed T-shirts of various sizes at a wholesale price they can sell on for profit.
